MONTREAL — Video transmission services provider Aldea Solutions today announced some corporate changes within its parent company, Marcatel Group, including the creation of a new division for corporate development and new business.
Heading the new division as executive group director will be Lionel Bentolila, who is currently CEO and the original founder of Aldea Solutions. Bentolila will assume his new role as of January 1, 2021.
Since founding Aldea in 2000, Bentolila led the strategic expansion of the company’s global network to more than 20 countries, delivering innovative services for the television and media industries, says a press release. In 2008, Bentolila was the architect behind the integration of Aldea into the Marcatel Group, a Monterrey, Mexico-based international group of telecommunications services enterprises.
“Lionel possesses a 360-degree vision of the global telecommunications, media and IT industries,” reads the press release issued by the Marcatel Group. “Without any doubt, Lionel is the ideal person to lead Marcatel Group’s commitment in the areas of new businesses, mergers and acquisitions and strategic alliances.”
Daniel Gonzalez, currently director of business development at Aldea, has been named as the new CEO of Aldea Solutions, effective January 1. Gonzalez brings more than 30 years of experience in telecommunications and information technology to his new role.
His previous experience includes teaching computer science at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies, from where he received his engineering degree in electronic systems.
“During the fourth quarter of 2020, Lionel and Daniel will be working toward the transition of responsibilities. We are confident that the collective experience that Lionel and Daniel will continue to bring forth to our Group will allow us to achieve the objectives and results we have set for ourselves,” says Marcatel Group CEO Gustavo M. de la Garza Flores, in the press release.
