Air Canada adds Apple TV+ shows to in-flight entertainment


MONTREAL – Air Canada announced Tuesday Apple TV+ original programming has been added to the airline’s in-flight entertainment as of Aug. 1.

Apple TV+ original shows, including Ted LassoBad SistersSeveranceFoundation and The Morning Show, will be available complimentary to all passengers on Air Canada’s in-flight entertainment-equipped aircraft, according to a press release.

“This new partnership with Apple puts us on track to increase our onboard entertainment content by more than 95 per cent since last year. We look forward to introducing even more entertainment before the end of 2023,” John Moody, managing director of product design at Air Canada, said in the release.

Air Canada’s in-flight entertainment currently offers 2,500-plus hours of programming, including more than 420 movies, 1,000 TV episodes, 130 music albums and podcasts, as well as live TV news and sports.

In May, Air Canada announced a multi-year deal with Bell that provides free messaging for all Aeroplan members worldwide on all Wi-Fi-equipped aircraft across Air Canada’s fleet.
