Telus expanding mobile health clinic program to Calgary

CALGARY — Telus Communications announced today its Telus Health for Good program is expanding to Calgary with the launch tomorrow of The Alex Mobile Care Clinic, powered by Telus Health technology.

Launched in partnership with The Alex Community Health Centre in Calgary, the new mobile clinic “will ensure even the most marginalized Calgarians have access to immediate, high-quality and compassionate care, when and where they need it,” says a media advisory for the official launch taking place tomorrow.

The Alex Mobile Care Clinic will be staffed with both a nurse and a peer support liaison. It “will deliver mobile addictions management, and primary healthcare such as routine testing, contraception, women’s health services, STI treatment, harm reduction services, and mental health care and counseling,” the advisory says.

The Telus Health for Good program already operates mobile clinics in Vancouver, Victoria, Surrey, Edmonton, Ottawa, Mississauga-Peel Region, Waterloo Region, Niagara Region, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax.
