
TORONTO — Global TV announced Wednesday its summer primetime lineup will feature several competition reality series showcasing everyday people, professional athletes and celebrities.
Along with season two of Dwayne Johnson’s heavyweight hit The Titan Games, Global’s summer schedule includes the new comedic, sports-themed game show Game On! and job-site competition series Tough As Nails.
From executive producers Ben Winston and James Corden, and hosted by Keegan-Michael Key, Game On! will debut Wednesday, May 27 at 8 p.m. Hosted and created by Phil Keoghan, Tough As Nails will premiere Wednesday, July 8 at 9 p.m. Season two of The Titan Games returns to Global TV on Monday, May 25 with a special two-hour episode starting at 8 p.m.
“More than ever, Canadians are connecting with Corus networks, whether through TV, online or streaming apps,” said Troy Reeb, executive vice president of broadcast networks for Corus Entertainment, in the news release. “Since the advent of social distancing in mid-March, we’ve seen a 28% increase in Global’s total audience versus earlier this year, powered by both Global News and our dynamic primetime lineup of scripted and reality series. And we’re thrilled to add even more muscle to the schedule with these new competition series.”
