TORONTO – The webOS smart TV platform from LG Electronics has added Channel Plus and sports streaming service DAZN to the 2017 LG webOS UHD smart TV models.
The 2017 LG OLED and LG SUPER UHD TVs feature webOS 3.5, the latest version of LG’s smart TV platform, which makes it easy to switch between content options like broadcast TV, streaming services and external devices. With the LG Magic Remote and refined launcher bar, viewers have access to 4K Ultra HD and high dynamic range (HDR) streaming content from Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Cineplex Digital, as well as Channel Plus and DAZN.
Powered by XUMO, Channel Plus is a unique, intuitive streaming service integrated into 2017 LG UHD smart TVs running webOS 3.5 in Canada. Channel Plus delivers both live and on-demand streaming content through an interface that presents over-the-air broadcast channels alongside over-the-top streaming channels.
DAZN, now available on LG webOS enabled smart TVs, provides live and on-demand sports content from the NFL, international professional soccer leagues and 250 tennis tournaments from the WTA and ATP.
“The addition of DAZN and launch of Channel Plus in Canada provide LG OLED and LG SUPER UHD TV owners access to a robust slate of content,” said LG Electronics North American head of content innovation Matt Durgin, in the news release. “With over 50 channels from top-tier content providers at their fingertips via our webOS smart TV platform, consumers can enjoy the content they love when they want to see it and on some of the top-rated TVs on the market.”
