Mascon Cable re-launches telephone service

SALMON ARM, BC – Mascon Cable Systems has successfully re-launched its cable telephone service using Clearcable’s Nomad telephony platform for small systems, the companies announced Friday.

Mascon offers digital cable, HDTV, high speed Internet and telephone services to the Southern Interior of British Columbia, including the communities of Sicamous, Chase, Pritchard, Sun Peaks, Whitecroft, Little Shuswap Lake, White Lake, Celista, Anglemont and Tobiano Resort.  The company said that deploying the Nomad platform allows it to assume in-house management of the entire service, thereby reducing operating costs and improving the customer experience.

“Clearcable helped us develop the internal infrastructure and expertise to provide a new and improved telephony service for our customers,” said Mascon’s technical manager, Malcolm Shattock, in the announcement.  “We’re delighted to leverage Clearcable’s support, expertise, and understanding of our market.”

“We’re proud to be part of Mascon’s local leadership in telecommunications,” added Clearcable president Rob McCann.  “We’re very grateful for the opportunity to work with the most innovative companies in the country and we look forward to continuing to foster their growth and success.”
