EXTON, PA – Rogers Communications will join Arris, Bright House Networks, Comcast, D-Link, and Time Warner Cable as inaugural members of a working group that will help plan for the roll out of IPv6 across cable networks.
Formed by the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), the IPv6 Deployment Working Group will bring together cable engineers, engineering managers and other thought leaders from the cable system operator, hardware and software communities to share information and best practices on device management and service enablement in an IPv6 environment.
The group will address the impact of IPv6 on management of DOCSIS devices, service enablement, and voice and video services. In addition to facilitating the sharing of expertise among group participants, the working group also will be responsible for the creation of best practices and educational and training materials that are pertinent to IPv6.
The IPv6 Deployment Working Group is open to all SCTE members. Interested participants can obtain more information here.
