MISSISSAUGA, ON – Bell Mobility has expanded its campus in Mississauga after officially opening its fourth building this week.
The new building is designed to meet LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards for environmental sustainability, the company said in an announcement. The international LEED standard focuses on site sustainability, water and energy conservation, sustainable use of materials and resources, and quality of indoor spaces.
"As a leader in environmental management, Bell takes an active and systematic approach to maximizing the sustainability of our business operations and facilities, and our newest LEED-designed building is a great example of our commitment," said Wade Oosterman, president of Bell Mobility and Bell’s chief brand officer, in the announcement.
Oosterman said that Bell is the first Canadian telecommunications company to be awarded certification to the international ISO 14001 standard for its environmental management system.
