OTTAWA – The Canadian Film and Television Production Association (CFTPA) is applauding Monday’s announcement of a consultation process for a national digital strategy and said that it looks forward to being an active participant.
“No one has a crystal ball with which to predict with certainty the future of digital media", said president and CEO Norm Bolen, in a statement. “But, there is one thing we do know. An environment where all stakeholders collaborate is the only productive way of achieving our goals to ensure Canadians enjoy the best standard of living possible.”
The group also lauded the government “for recognizing the important role content creation plays in the digital economy, and for committing to develop a long-term plan that will stand the test of time”.
The CFTPA is a national trade association representing about 400 Canadian independent screen-based media production entrepreneurs working in the English market in television, feature film, and interactive media.
