TORONTO – Channel Zero-owned CHCH will debut a new look, new programming, and “an enhanced news experience” next week.
A year after the Hamilton, ON station ditched its E! brand in favour of a mix of news shows and movies, the channel said Tuesday that it will re-launch on August 30th with a new logo, a new sports show, and a primetime line-up anchored by movies, news magazine shows, and hit dramas.
“The revitalized logo reflects the new energy and creative vision Channel Zero has for the business,” said Chris Fuoco, VP of sales and marketing for Channel Zero, in a statement. “The station’s (new) tagline ‘Your Superstation’ speaks to the overwhelming viewer response CHCH has received over the past year. Our viewers have embraced CHCH, and we wanted them to know that we recognize their loyalty. We felt that this tagline clearly conveyed our appreciation to our audience.”
The station’s all-day news offering will now provide real-time on-screen news headlines, local traffic updates and weather information (see sample below). In an effort to be relevant to residents throughout the entire Golden Horseshoe area of the province, the station said that it will expand its news coverage to include commuters, out-of-home and at-work viewers. CHCH is available to over 96% of Ontario households and is viewed by millions nationally each week.
