CMF reviews industry feedback, prepares for April launch

TORONTO – The Canadian Television Fund has wrapped up its cross-country consultation process, and is reviewing the input as it prepares to transform into the Canadian Media Fund this April.

With ten stops at locations ranging from St. John’s to Vancouver, the CTF described participation as “beyond our expectations”, with 738 people representing various organizations and sectors of the industry taking part.

Following the provincial and territorial sessions, representatives of various industry organizations formed a national focus group to review all input gleaned from both the tour and through written submissions. A summary of their results is expected within the next few weeks, the organization confirmed.

The Canadian Media Fund, a combination of the existing Canadian Television Fund and the Canadian New Media Fund, will debut on April 1, 2010.
