Sheridan to helm WIFT-T


TORONTO – Sue Sheridan’s position was made official today.

After serving as interim executive director of Women in Film and Television – Toronto for most of the year, Sheridan was given the full title. She joined WIFT-T in 2005 as director of programming development and was named acting managing director in 2006.

“We are more than delighted that someone with Sue’s exceptional leadership ability will be assuming the role of executive director,” said WIFT-T board chair Wendy MacKeigan. "With the launch of www.CanadianFilmmaker.com, the development of the Business Learning Initiative certificate program, and the upcoming Crystal Awards in December, the organization under Sue’s capable direction is now clearly well positioned to move to the next level.”

“I am very excited about my official role at WIFT-T, and I look forward to working with the highly accomplished Board and talented staff to continue WIFT-T’s much-needed and relevant work in the industry ,” said Sheridan, in the same release.

Women in Film and Television – Toronto ( WIFT-T) is an internationally affiliated professional organization that recognizes, trains and advances women in screen-based media. WIFT-T offers a year-round slate of skills development, networking events and industry awards, providing the tools to succeed in Canada’s global entertainment industry. WIFT-T serves more than 3,000 women and men in Canadian screen-based media, connecting them to close to 10,000 leading film, television, and new media professionals worldwide.
