TORONTO – The Gemini Award-winning Slings & Arrows miniseries returns for a third and final season next month on Movie Central and The Movie Network.
The Canadian original made for pay TV miniseries will premiere on Monday, July 24 at 7 p.m. PT on Movie Central in the west and at 10 p.m. ET on The Movie Network in the east.
Chronicling the fictional New Burbage Theatre Festival, Slings & Arrows features an all-star cast, including Paul Gross, Martha Burns, Mark McKinney, Stephen Ouimette, Don McKellar, Susan Coyne, and Aaron Abrams. New this season are familiar faces Sarah Polley and William Hutt, who plays an aging Canadian actor who fears playing King Lear (in homage to his real-life experience on the Shakespearean stage at Stratford, Ont.).
“We are thrilled to offer Slings & Arrows fans a special treat this season, with the introduction of world-renowned Shakespearean actor William Hutt,” said Shelley Gillen, Head of Creative and Business Affairs, Movie Central. “The exceptional calibre of talent in every aspect of this critically and commercially acclaimed series has brought recognition, first from Canadian audiences, and now also from viewers across the border watching on the Sundance Channel, affirming Movie Central’s ongoing commitment to the production of high-quality original Pay TV programming.”
“Slings & Arrows continues to bring our audience the very best of Canadian talent both on-screen and behind the camera,” said Erica Benson, Director of Canadian Independent Production, The Movie Network. “The third season of Slings & Arrows closes on a high note, and The Movie Network is delighted to be a part of it.”
The shows will air in high definition and be available on both channels’ on demand service the Tuesday following each episode.
