Fromer exits BT

TORONTO – Citytv Toronto announced yesterday that Liza Fromer, co-host of BT-Breakfast Television has resigned.

“Co-hosting BT has been the most rewarding experience in my professional career; it has been home to me for the last five years," said Fromer (pictured) in a release. "The decision to leave was not an easy one to make, but with all the changes in my life and with the baby, it was the right one for me at this time," added the new mom.

"It really is like losing a member of the family, but we wish Liza well and I sincerely hope we can work together again soon," said co-host Kevin Frankish.

Citytv is also announced that Frankish has signed a deal that will keep him with the morning show for another four years. Kevin has been part of the program – the top rated AM TV show in Toronto – since joining in 1994.

“Kevin has been the anchor of the BT family for well over 10 years now. We’re thrilled that as we move forward, as the show evolves, we have Kevin at the helm of Toronto’s Number One morning show," said Stephen Hurlbut, vice-president, news programming Citytv and VP and GM, CP24.

Now the race is on among broadcasters to be Fromer’s replacement. Citytv did not announce who will take the coveted post.
