Teletoon promotes a pair


TORONTO – Today, Teletoon announced the appointment of Leslie Krueger as vice-president of marketing, and Trent Locke as vice-president of finance and planning. The new titles are effective immediately.

Krueger has over 15 years experience in marketing, promotions and advertising. In her new role, she will be responsible for the strategic direction, development and evaluation of marketing programs, as well as the leadership of sales promotions, creative services and online media. Krueger (right) joined Teletoon in 2001 as director, promotions and became the director of marketing and promotions in 2002.

During this time, she successfully launched Toon Trax, the animation channel’s first foray into the merchandising and licensing market, as well as Teletoon Presents, a new home entertainment label. Prior to joining Teletoon, Krueger was vice-president, media at ad agency BBDO.

“Leslie has always shown remarkable passion for Teletoon and has demonstrated great team leadership,” said president Len Cochrane. “Her extensive experience in marketing, coupled with her knowledge of the television industry, will be a valuable asset as we continue to strengthen Teletoon’s brand.”

As vice-president of finance and planning, Locke brings over 14 years experience in finance and strategic management. In this newly created role, he will be responsible for managing all financial functions and will lead the development of short and long-term strategic plans.

Locke (left) joined Teletoon in 2000 and was responsible for overseeing financial reporting, analysis, and planning for both Teletoon and The Family Channel. Previously, Mr. Locke was at Diverseylever, a division of Unilever Canada where he was responsible for all financial related activities.

“Since joining Teletoon, Trent has been a valuable member of the management team and has contributed to various facets of our networks, including the license renewal process, ensuring regulatory compliance and participating in the development of organizational business and financial strategies,” said Cochrane. “We look forward to his continued leadership and business acumen in ensuring Teletoon’s ongoing success.”
