OTTAWA – Bell Canada Enterprises’ satellite operator Telesat Canada said the first quarter of 2005 showed a 28% increase in revenue to $107.7 million. Of the total revenue, $51.1 million of which comes from the broadcast side of the business, which is a 6.6% increase over the first quarter of last year. The company, which owns and operates satellites serving the Americas and provides a wide range of consulting services, “continued its long track record of profitability with the net earnings of $19.5 million, an increase of 2% from the first quarter of 2004,” said the press release.
