VANCOUVER — Camp Bonkers, a YouTube-based summer camp variety series, will premiere on kids channel Toon-A-Vision during the first week of December, the series’ Vancouver-based developer and producer Wind Sun Sky Entertainment announced today.
“We’ve had such great success with our content being online, this partnership now takes it to the next level reaching a new audience of kids and their parents looking to make their screen time more active and exciting, with more options on how and where to watch,” said Krista Kelloway, vice-president, Wind Sun Sky Entertainment and camp director, Camp Bonkers, in a press release.
Camp Bonkers, an activity-based show which encourages kids to hang out with friends, play games, go on adventures, sing songs, make fun food, and conduct cool science experiments, all from the comfort of their homes, has achieved one million views on YouTube, says the release. The content is led by camp counsellors, as well as special guests including Sparkles, Beaver and Scribbles the Cat.
“Toon-A-Vision and Camp Bonkers is going to be a great partnership that benefits not only our two companies, but most importantly our viewers,” said Adam Mimnaugh, president of Toon-A-Vision. “Our current lineup offers a variety of fun and imaginative shows and movies for kids that are guilt-free for parents. Camp Bonkers enhances that. We can’t wait to see our viewer’s reactions.”
Following the show’s premiere on Toon-A-Vision at the beginning of December, content will air Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on the network, which according to the press release now reaches four million homes across Canada through various BDUs.
