TORONTO – The world’s first festival dedicated to video content from YouTube is coming to Toronto in November.
Buffer Festival will be held at TIFF Bell Lightbox, Scotiabank Theatre, Glenn Gould Studio, and the Jane Mallett Theatre from November 8 – November 10, 2013. The event will include 50 feature-length shows plus themed screenings that highlight YouTube content across broad genres, and screenings presented by celebrity YouTubers showcasing work from fellow full-time YouTube creators. Festival-goers are promised a wide variety of high-quality video content and the chance to meet the world’s biggest Canadian and international YouTube stars.
"I am very excited to combine the YouTube experience with a theatrical setting”, said Corey Vidal, executive producer and founder of Buffer Festival and president of ApprenticeA Productions, in the event’s press release. “There is so much incredible content being made specifically for YouTube, and as a full-time YouTuber I am delighted to showcase some of that talent.”
The festival is presented by ApprenticeA Productions and co-produced with the Canadian Film Centre’s Media Lab (CFC Media Lab). Partners include YouTube, Contiki, Blue Ant Media, Canon, TIFF Next Wave Committee, Cineplex Entertainment, and InsideDigital.org.
Tickets to the shows will be available here starting September 26 or for purchase directly from the TIFF Bell Lightbox box office.
