OTTAWA and ATLANTA – You.i TV technology has been tapped by The Weather Group to improve their digital apps starting with Local Now, a streaming service that offers access to local weather, traffic, news and sports to users across the U.S.
Using You.i TV’s video experience platform Engine One, Local Now “will deliver an even more personalized experience with dynamic content for a hyper-local audience”, reads the news release.
Breaking new ground on content, distribution and now the user experience, Local Now delivers real-time, localized information on streaming devices including iOS, Android, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, and Roku from content partners such as the Associated Press, Reuters, Foursquare, American City Business Journals, Stadium, Cheddar, Pointslocal, SportRadar, Internet Video Archive, TrafficLand, INRIX, and Flight Aware.
“We are thrilled to be selected by Weather Group and Local Now for the evolution of their live streaming experience”, said You.i TV CEO Jason Flick, in the release. “We look forward to helping Local Now extend their already successful OTT app to address the needs of the users regardless of where they are consuming information.”
The next generation of Local Now will launch in spring.
