York Region’s 105.9 FM TheRegion spotlights Chinese culture


MARKHAM, Ont. — Radio station 105.9 FM TheRegion, located in York Region north of Toronto, announced late Tuesday the release of a new documentary film series, China in My Eyes, featuring more than 50 Chinese-Canadian youth “manifesting and inheriting different aspects of traditional Chinese culture”, says the press release.

The microfilms in the series present these talented Chinese youth in Canada who re-imagined traditional Chinese culture with modern elements, says the release.

“The production team at Fm105.9 TheRegion strives to inspire through capturing these moments of cultural inheritance,” reads the release.

Some of the Chinese culture showcased in the films include the philosophical stories of the Three Kingdoms novel; the intriguing theatre of Journey to the West; Peking and Yue opera; and the traditional folk comedy art of crosstalk.
