CORNWALL, ON – Xplornet officially opened the doors of its new regional offices in Cornwall, ON on Friday, a $40 million investment that it says has already brought over 120 full-time jobs to Eastern Ontario.
Now fully operational, the office will support Xplornet's growing customer base and all core company functions, including technical service, customer care, sales, network, and corporate support, reads the news release.
The rural-focused Internet service provider said that Cornwall, located approximately 100 kilometres southeast of Ottawa and some 120 kilometres southwest of Montreal, was selected because of its strong local economy and the quality of its workforce.
"Our customers live in rural communities across Canada”, said president and CEO Allison Lenehan, in the release. “To continue providing exceptional customer service, we choose to invest in rural communities. We think Cornwall and the surrounding areas in Eastern Ontario are representative of our customers and ultimately, of rural Canada itself. We are delighted to celebrate the official opening of what we view as an exciting new part of our company. We envision a bright future for Xplornet in Cornwall in the years ahead."
