MARKHAM, ON – Rural Internet provider Xplore said Monday it will start offering 100 Mbps satellite-based internet service this fall, following the July 28 launch of Hughes Network Systems’ next-generation Jupiter 3 geo-synchronous satellite.
Availability and pricing details will be announced closer to service launch, a press release says. Xplore’s new Internet service will provide download speeds up to 100 Mbps, upload speeds up to 10 Mbps, and 24/7 Canada-based customer support. More information can be found here.
“Canadians who need or prefer to rely on satellite Internet will soon have a homegrown high-speed offering through Xplore,” Rizwan Jamal, Xplore president and chief commercial officer, said in the release. “Our service will have no upfront hardware costs — and our solution will be installed by a local professional, so there are no hassles or risk for our customers. We look forward to serving rural Canadians in a new, state-of-the-art way.”
