XM adds more kids and sports

TORONTO – Satellite radio provider XM Canada is adding a kids channel and several sports channels to its growing line-up.

Starting Monday, the network is plugging in the U.S. sports provider ESPNEWS and ESPN Radio, along with U.S. college football and basketball from the PAC 10 and BIG 12 conferences.

“Our enhanced sports line-up further solidifies XM Canada’s position as the leader in sports programming,” said XM Canada executive vice-president Stewart Lyons in a statement. “Not only do we have an exclusive agreement to broadcast every team and every game for the next eight NHL seasons, but we also cover MLB, PGA Golf, IndyCar Racing and much more.”

Radio Disney, which provides music and entertainment for children and tweens, is also now available.

Last week, XM Canada added ATN-Asian Radio, which provides news, sports, and entertainment in English, as well as in Punjabi, Hindi, and other South Asian languages.
