
TORONTO – Women in Film & Television – Toronto (WIFT-T) has unveiled the five winners of its annual Crystal Awards, honouring outstanding women and the men who champion women working in the Canadian screen-based media industry.
Since 1988, more than 140 industry leaders have been honored by WIFT-T for their excellence in creativity, innovation, and leadership in film, television and digital media.
The 2018 winners are:
– Creative Excellence Award: Edwina Follows, general manager of Discovery Networks;
– Mentorship Award: Zoe Dirse, csc, director of photography;
– Outstanding Achievement in Business Award: Grace Carnale-Davis, vice-president of sales and client service at Technicolor;
– Digital Trailblazer Award: Deb Day, CEO and chief strategist at Innovate By Day;
– Special Jury Award of Distinction: Karen Thorne-Stone, president and CEO of Ontario Creates.
The 31st annual Crystal Awards Gala will take place on December 4 at the Arcadian Court in Toronto. Tickets are on sale now.
