
TORONTO — Bell Media’s TSN announced today Canadian basketball star Kia Nurse (pictured) is joining the network as a basketball analyst.
Beginning her new role with TSN today, the Canadian Olympian, two-time NCAA women’s basketball champion and WNBA all-star will contribute her analysis of the NBA and WNBA playoffs on TSN’s SportsCentre.
Nurse will make regular appearances on TSN platforms while maintaining her on-court roles with Canada’s national women’s basketball team and the WNBA’s New York Liberty. She previously appeared on TSN as an analyst during the network’s coverage of NCAA March Madness in 2019.
“I’ve truly enjoyed my time in front of the camera as much as I have playing basketball and I’m honoured to be back to talk about the game I love,” said Nurse, in Bell Media’s press release. “I’m excited to join the amazing team at TSN, and look forward to expanding my experience as a broadcaster.”
The Hamilton native was drafted 10th overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft by the New York Liberty, and was a starter for the 2019 WNBA All-Star game. She played college basketball at University of Connecticut, winning back-to-back NCAA women’s basketball titles in 2015 and 2016. She has been a member of Team Canada since 2011.
Nurse has also played in the WNBL in Australia, winning back-to-back championships with the Canberra Capitals in 2019 and 2020. She was awarded MVP of the WNBL for the 2020 season.
