Wireless industry rallies behind Pakistan flood relief efforts

OTTAWA - Nationwide text-to-donate campaigns with most Canadian wireless subscribers are now underway to help with Pakistan flood relief efforts.The Mobile Giving Foundation Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association and Canadian wireless service providers, has coordinated a campaign allowing Canadians to help by:• Texting the word “REDCROSS” to 30333 to donate $10 to the Canadian Red Cross;• Texting the word “GIVE” in English or “DON” in French to 45678 to donate $5 to UNICEF;• Texting the word “WORLD” to 45678 to donate $5 to World Vision Canada.The donation will appear on a consumer’s wireless phone bill, and no text...
