TORONTO – Wind Mobile is introducing new unlimited plans after hitting the 700,000 active subscriber mark and recording “record Q1 sales”.

The new plans, effective April 7, include a $25 per month plan featuring unlimited Canada-wide talk and text; a $35 per month “smartphone starter plan” with unlimited data, talk and text plus a $150 handset subsidy; and a $60 per month plan, the first monthly plan to include unlimited data, talk, text in Canada and across the U.S. plus Voicemail+, World Saver and a $500 handset subsidy or service credits.

Chief Operating Officer Pietro Cordova said that the 700,000 subscriber milestone proves “that Canadians stay with Wind Mobile because they want to, not because they have to.”

“Hitting 700,000 subscribers reiterates that Canadians are looking for competition in the wireless industry and consumers trust us to bring them the very best value”, he said in the news release.  “Without being required to sign a contract, our customers consistently have access to the newest phones and the best plans in the market.”

Wind added that it will begin offering the new Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One (M8) later this month.  Customers also have the option of bringing their own device, including the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, Nexus 5 and others, for up to $500 in service credits.
