TORONTO – Wind Mobile added 41,000 net subscribers in the third quarter, ending the period with a total of 358,000 wireless customers, according to financial results released by its Egyptian backer Orascom. While this is up 156% from its 139,681 subscribers in the third quarter of 2010, analysts had been expecting 70,000 net additions due to the ‘back-to-school’ demand, greater distribution, Wind’s new price plans and the launch of the Wind tab+ in the quarter, which reduces the upfront price a customer pays for a smart phone.
