Wind Mobile targets Toronto’s ethnic communities

TORONTO – Wind Mobile has doubled up its retail presence in the greater Toronto area in a bid to reach out to the city’s ethnic communities.

The wireless upstart announced Friday that it has struck a partnership with new retailer Value Mobile “to reach out specifically to newcomer communities in the GTA”.

“We’re very pleased to launch our partnership with Value Mobile which will make Wind Mobile’s products and services even more accessible to Canadians,” said Melissa Clark, Wind’s VP of sales and distribution, in the announcement. “The Wind community is growing every day as we welcome customers to sign on for a better wireless experience in Canada.”

Four of Value Mobile’s locations in the GTA will stock Wind’s products and services starting Friday.  Formerly known as Cellular Point, the retailer says that it aims to provide “cost effective mobile solutions along with the best possible in-store customer experience”.

“A compelling part of Wind Mobile’s value is the control offered to mobile consumers including the freedom to choose international calling plans,” said Value Mobile CEO, Bobby Maker. “We’re pleased to bring this unique offering to our customers as we officially launch throughout the GTA. Value Mobile is here to stay and we’re delighted to partner with Wind Mobile who will also have sustainability in the market for generations to come.”
