TORONTO – Wind Mobile has launched a prepaid mobile Internet service called Pay Your Way.
Aimed at customers who do not want to commit to a monthly plan for their mobile Internet sticks or Wi-Fi hotspot devices, the new service allows payment for Internet access only when needed. Pay Your Way costs $2 an hour but is capped at $5 a day, even if the customer is on-line the entire time.
“Pay Your Way is a great option for anyone who doesn’t want to commit to a monthly internet data plan”, said chairman and CEO Anthony Lacavera, in the announcement. “Flexible and affordable services are at the heart of our wireless offering and Pay Your Way is yet another example of our dedication to our customers’ needs and wants.”
In other company news, Wind has expanded its coverage to the Guelph region of Ontario, and will open two stores in the city by the end of the month. It also added the Alcatel OneTouch 908 S to its device lineup priced at $120 or at no charge on a company account known as a WINDtab.
