Wind Mobile adds cheaper handset, extends porting credit

TORONTO – Wind Mobile has added a less expensive mobile phone to its lineup, and has extended its $150 porting credit offer until May 4.

Starting May 1st, the new wireless entrant will begin selling the Huawei U1250 for $70. The company currently offers four phones ranging in price from $130 to $450.

“This means that with the $150 porting credit extension, customers can enjoy the new Huawei U1250 as well as a full year of service for only $100,” said CMO Scott Campbell, in the announcement. “Consumers have been asking for a more affordably priced phone in our product line-up. We’ve heard this feedback and we’re proud to respond with our porting credit extension and the latest in mobile technology at a great price.”

Wind Mobile has the exclusive rights to offer the Huawei U1250 in Canada until the end of the summer. Key features of the device include a music player with micro-SD memory slot capability, 2 MP camera, Bluetooth, and FM radio.
