WildBrain, in partnership with The Pokémon Company International, announced Wednesday the launch of a new Pokémon free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel on Samsung TV Plus in the United States.
Launched just in time for Pokémon Day on Feb. 27, the channel offers a curated 24/7 stream of Pokémon episodes across 22 seasons of the iconic animated series featuring Ash Ketchum and his Pokémon partner, Pikachu.
WildBrain is the exclusive distributor of the single-IP Pokémon FAST channel, and it also handles direct advertising inventory for Pokémon FAST channels through its in-house media solutions team, a WildBrain press release says.
“Pokémon is an iconic property, and this new launch on Samsung TV Plus provides the brand’s dedicated fanbase with another way to enjoy Ash Ketchum and Pikachu’s exciting adventures. As a leader in the FAST space, WildBrain is pleased to expand our partnership with Samsung TV Plus to bring Pokémon to long-term fans and a new generation of kids,” Lara Ilie, vice president of AVOD and FAST at WildBrain, said in the press release.
This new channel adds to the 44 WildBrain channels already launched for kids’ brands on Samsung TV Plus across multiple regions. WildBrain has launched approximately 150 FAST channels across multiple platforms worldwide, according to the release.
