WildBrain announces new Strawberry Shortcake content and licensing deals


Kids’ and family entertainment company WildBrain announced Wednesday several new holiday-themed products and experiences for fans of its Strawberry Shortcake brand, plus new and extended partnerships that will see more products launching in 2024.

The new seasonal collaborations follow the November release of WildBrain’s new CG-animated Netflix special, Strawberry Shortcake’s Perfect Holiday, which features Strawberry Shortcake and her friends preparing for the “Winterswirl” holiday celebration.

Extending the fun into the new year, WildBrain announced brand-new Strawberry Shortcake original short content will premiere on the official Strawberry Shortcake YouTube channel beginning on Jan. 15. The 60 15-second shorts will give “playful glimpses into the small and sweet moments between Strawberry’s big adventures,” a press release says.

The new Strawberry Shortcake festive activations and partnerships include deals with baking product company Crisco, Julienne Fine Foods & Celebrations in San Marino, Calif., free-to-air children’s TV broadcaster Tiny Pop in the U.K., Starglow Media’s Girl Tales podcast for a festive crossover episode launching Dec. 18, and artist Spooksieboo and online retailer Threadless for an exclusive Strawberry Shortcake holiday apparel and accessories collaboration.

New deals and extended partnerships brokered by WildBrain’s dedicated licensing agency, WildBrain CPLG, include partnerships with apparel companies Sweet Peas, Mad Engine, IML, Hybrid, The Forecast Agency and Dolls Kill.

Gaming partner Budge has come out with a new Strawberry Shortcake Bake Shop game to help celebrate the launch of the Strawberry Shortcake’s Perfect Holiday special on Netflix.

Toy partner The Loyal Subjects has launched new classic Strawberry Shortcake collectibles in the U.S. at Five Below stores, plus a Strawberry Shortcake ragdoll available at retailer Cracker Barrel. In addition, Boss Fight Studio has launched a poseable action figure collection featuring Strawberry Shortcake, Orange Blossom, Lime Chiffon and Huckleberry Pie, available online globally and in store at Hot Topic and FYE retailers. A second collection is planned for 2024-2024 featuring more characters.

Finally, specialty puzzle partner Blue Kazoo has released a 1,000-piece Strawberry Shortcake puzzle, while Blank Tag Co. has launched a range of waterproof and stylized stickers featuring Strawberry and her friends. A second sticker collection is planned for 2024.
