WildBrain and The Pokémon Company International announced Wednesday they have launched a new FAST channel on Prime Video, bringing a curated stream of the first 25 seasons of the original Pokémon animated series to U.S. audiences.
WildBrain also confirmed the expansion of its FAST partnership with The Pokémon Company International will give WildBrain the FAST rights for three additional seasons of the series as well as a selection of Pokémon movies. WildBrain said it plans to roll out the additional seasons and movies across the brand’s existing FAST channels on a rolling basis, including Pokémon Journeys: The Series (48 episodes x 30 minutes), Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series (42 x 30) and Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series (54 x 30).
In addition, through the new deal, WildBrain is picking up FAST rights for Latin America and it plans to bring Pokémon FAST channels to fans throughout the region, it said.
“Our expanded FAST partnership with The Pokémon Company International reflects the enduring popularity of this beloved brand,” said Lara Ilie, vice president of AVOD and FAST at WildBrain, in a press release. “As the leader in the kids’ FAST space, we’re thrilled to bring 25 incredible seasons of Pokémon to Prime Video.”
Under the partnership, WildBrain is the exclusive distributor of the single-IP Pokémon FAST channel.
The launch on Prime Video follows WildBrain and The Pokémon Company International’s February launch of a Pokémon FAST channel on Samsung TV Plus in the United States.
