TORONTO — Blue Ant Media today announced the new three-part series Wild Pacific Rescue will have its world broadcast premiere on April 14 exclusively on Cottage Life during the channel’s nationwide free preview, which runs until May 2.
The series offers a behind-the-scenes look at Vancouver Aquarium’s Marine Mammal Rescue (MMR) team of dedicated veterinarians as they work to save and rehabilitate marine life. (Pictured are team members checking on Arlo the sea otter after he is found in critical condition.) Led by MMR’s renowned marine veterinarian Dr. Marty Haulena, the series follows his team along the northwest Pacific coastline to the operating rooms of the world-class aquarium.
Wild Pacific Rescue draws attention to how plastic pollution is threatening British Columbia’s marine life, with scenes of sea lions and sea pups getting entangled and swallowing plastic debris. The MMR team also rescue and treat an emaciated spirited pup rescued from a local beach, a California sea lion shot by a crossbow bolt and a hypothermic sea turtle 2,000 miles from its tropical home.
A co-production between Blue Ant’s Cottage Life and Love Nature brands, the series is created and produced by White Pine Pictures in an exclusive partnership with the Ocean Wise Conservation Association.
Wild Pacific Rescue will premiere April 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Cottage Life and will be simulcast on Love Nature.
