WINNIPEG – MTS Allstream said today it has expanded its wireless Internet service to more than 60 Manitoba locations and offers access to over 300 locations across Canada.
The MTS Wi-Fi Hotspots in Manitoba are located in Winnipeg, Headingley, Brandon, Virden, and Morris at key places such as the MTS Centre, the Forks, Osborne Village, and dozens of other locations including coffee shops, restaurants, truck stops, and shopping centres. (See web site for list of locations in Manitoba.) MTS High Speed Internet and MTS Mobility customers can also access Wi-Fi at more than 300 similar locations across Canada serviced by FatPort.
"More customers have started to take advantage of our High Speed Internet access outside of their homes and they have told us that they would like to see it offered at additional locations," said Kelvin Shepherd, president consumer markets, MTS Allstream Inc. "We have added Hotspots to provide them with more access points and we plan to further expand our Wi-Fi network over the next year."
MTS High Speed Internet and MTS Mobility customers can purchase unlimited Wi-Fi access for $20 per month or 30 hours for $10 per month. An hourly rate of $1.50 per is also available. Non-MTS customers can also access these Hotspots by purchasing time with a credit card.
