Whole home PVR gives MTS TV a leg up


WINNIPEG – Capable of recording up to three programs at the same time and playing back programs from any connected TV in the home, MTS launched Canada’s first Whole Home personal video recorder.

So far, this is the only service of its kind in Canada and exclusive to MTS Ultimate TV Service customers in Portage La Prairie, Brandon, and Winnipeg.

"Whole Home PVR is the best PVR service a customer can experience in Canada, unmatched by any Canadian competitor, and it’s available right now for MTS Ultimate TV customers," said Kelvin Shepherd, president Consumer Markets division, MTS Allstream, in a release.

Whole Home PVR provides customers with the freedom of watching their PVR content from any connected TV in their home. Customers can also set up their PVR to record up to three programs from any connected TV in any room of the house while watching recorded content from their PVR – all at the same time.

Customers taking advantage of the new Whole Home PVR and MTS Ultimate TV Service. The service includes access to a great line-up of HD channels with more to come, an advanced interactive program guide with picture-in-picture display, and the opportunity to sign up for MTS’s fastest Internet speeds with two new High Speed Internet plans – Lightning Bolt and SuperMax.

For only $5 a month, customers can get the MTS Whole Home PVR service. Set top boxes are available for $3 a month per set top box.
