TORONTO – WFN: World Fishing Network and Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows have announced a strategic partnership for the 2008 season that will see both companies team up to promote their brands to Canada’s rapidly growing fishing enthusiasts.
“As two of the premier leaders in the Canadian fishing industry, WFN’s partnership with the Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows is a win-win for both companies and more importantly, for fishing fans across Canada,” said Christopher Doyle, vice-president of marketing for Insight Sports, the operating company for WFN, in a press release.
“The Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows are Canada’s premier outdoor consumer events and we look forward to attracting new specialty channel subscribers and new registrants to our WFN Tour Bass Championships by strategically and effectively promoting our brand to the casual and avid angler.”
WFN will serve as the official television partner of the Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows and will provide the organization with increased advertising and promotional support through its specialty channel and its web site, www.WFN.tv.
In return, the Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows will provide WFN with a major presence at the 2008 Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows in Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto and Edmonton.
As part of the agreement, WFN will have a booth and naming rights to the main stage area at each of the four events, as well as an on-site television studio set at the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show.
During the Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows, WFN will launch a variety of promotions and contests to connect with fishing enthusiasts, including WFN Casting Call, which invites individuals to submit an audition tape for a chance to win a job as an official WFN television host. In addition, at each event, WFN will hold a contest entitled, “Win Big with WFN!”, where attendees can enter a random draw to win a variety of great fishing-related prizes, including an all-inclusive fishing vacation. Star Choice will also be on-site during each of the four 2008 Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows and will offer a variety of exclusive offers and promotions to all attendees.
