DENVER and TORONTO – Mark Rubinstein, President and CEO of World Fishing Network (WFN) has announced he’s leaving effective today.
“It has been an honor and privilege to launch and lead WFN and to witness its growth over the last seven years. With the support of the Board of Directors and our inspired and dedicated staff, we’ve built an outstanding international media brand, and this transition enables me to dedicate more of my time and energy on new opportunities in the media, entertainment and digital space,” said Rubinstein.
“Mark has been a great leader, getting WFN from just an idea through launch and positioned to be the market leader it is today,” said Kenny Albert, Executive Vice President of the Kilmer Group, which holds a significant interest in Insight Sports, and member of the WFN Board of Directors. “He has given everything he had to the network and we are so grateful for his hard work, fiscal responsibility and dedication to WFN.”
As a result of Rubinstein’s departure WFN LLC has announced the immediate creation of a new President & CEO position to be located in Denver, Colorado. The position will oversee WFN LLC’s operations in the United States and the Caribbean. The Canadian WFN service, which is licensed to World Fishing Network ULC, will continue operations from its Toronto, office.
World Fishing Network is jointly owned and operated by Insight Sports, headquartered in Toronto, Ontario and Altitude Sports & Entertainment, headquartered in suburban Denver, Colorado. Kim Carver, President & CEO of Altitude Sports & Entertainment and a member of WFN’s Board of Directors, will assume the role of WFN LLC President and CEO on an interim basis.
“As we work to expand the reach of the network throughout North America and the Caribbean, especially the United States, we recognize the importance of having the presence of a President & CEO at the network center in Denver,” said Carver. “While we undergo a thorough search for a candidate to fulfill this role on a full time basis, I’m excited to guide this network until we find a replacement.”
“While the growth and distribution of World Fishing Network in the United States is important to our business moving forward, we have no intention of reducing our presence in and commitment to the Canadian marketplace. There will be no changes to WFN operations in Canada, however, Gennady Ferenbok, the company’s long-standing General Counsel and Secretary, will assume the managerial responsibilities in Canada,” added Albert.
