Westcan acquires Coast Mountain Wireless


EDMONTON — Helix Advanced Communications and Infrastructure Inc., operating as Westcan Advanced Communications Solutions, today announced it has acquired the assets and outstanding shares of Coast Mountain Wireless Communications of Terrace, B.C.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

As well, Coast Mountain Wireless is in the centre of one of Canada’s strongest mining sectors and have become the pinnacle of wireless communications excellence in the region,” said Craig Baker, vice-president of business development for Edmonton-based Westcan ACS, in a press release.

Over the last 20 years, Coast Mountain Wireless has successfully built and operated a reputable wireless communication and LMR (land mobile radio) business, including a thriving Motorola Solutions Dealership in the North Coast Region of B.C., and District of Kitimat-Stikine.

Westcan Advanced Communications Solutions has successfully deployed, maintained and serviced mission-critical and public safety LMR solutions, coverage enhancement solutions, wireless broadband network solutions and engineered microwave backhaul solutions in Western Canada since 1977.
