OTTAWA — Registration is open for Women in Communications and Technology (WCT) fall webinar series, which start next week.
With the overall theme of “Learning and connecting in the virtual workplace”, WCT’s fall webinar series begins September 8, with the remaining webinars being held every two weeks throughout the fall. Registration is required as space is limited. WCT webinars are free for WCT members, and cost $40 for non-members.
The first webinar, “Retaining and Attracting Diverse Teams”, is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET on Sept. 8. Kelly Nolan of Talent Strategy will offer an hour of learning focused on the impacts of unconscious bias in the workplace. Winning the war on talent acquisition is not about a culture shift but a systems approach. This webinar will help managers and women understand how organizations must pivot to win the race for attracting and retaining diverse talent.
The second webinar in the series, “Ambition is Not Enough: Strategies for Achieving Your Career Aspirations”, is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET on September 23. Through her successful tech career, Shellye Archambeau, an experienced CEO and board director, learned that ambition alone is not enough. Every opportunity comes with risks, obstacles and roadblocks that must be managed and overcome. In this session, Archambeau will share strategies, approaches and techniques for successfully handling these situations and achieving aspirations.
The third webinar, “Leveraging Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace”, takes place October 6, and the fourth webinar, “The Future is 5G with Rogers Communications”, is scheduled for November 4.
