TORONTO – The World Broadcasting Unions (WBU) International Media Connectivity Group (IMCG) has named Morwen Williams as its new committee chair, effective July 1st.
Currently head of UK operations for BBC News, Williams is replacing John Ball, WarnerMedia’s global distribution and technology VP, who has served as WBU-IMCG chair since 2016 and will be leaving the company at the end of July. The remaining term for IMCG chair is until the end of 2020.
“We are all thrilled to see Morwen in this leadership position,” said Michael McEwen, head of the WBU secretariat, in the announcement. “She has been a vital member of the WBU-IMCG since 2015 and has contributed deeply to our IMCG Forums, most recently taking on the hosting responsibilities of our upcoming Forum in November.”
The WBU-IMCG works with broadcasters, satellite and fibre service providers and vendors in providing global solutions to common exchange of content and operational problems on any platform. Its forums, held twice a year, allow open dialogue from an international perspective on key collection and delivery issues.
