Waddell joins Teletoon as CD


TORONTO – Matthew Waddell has been appointed creative director at Teletoon.

He will be responsible for the branding, on-air promotion, graphic design and off-channel creative for the Teletoon, Teletoon at Night and Teletoon Retro brands in both English and French. He’ll also lead the Teletoon Studios team in the development of creative ideas and the delivery of all on-air elements, sales promotions and network marketing support.

Reporting to Russell Ward, vice-president, marketing, Waddell will be a key member of Teletoon’s management team.

Waddell joins Teletoon following a nine-year stint at Astral Television Networks (Astral’s a 50% co-owner of the animation station with Corus), where he served most recently as associate creative director. He has received more than 70 awards and was a finalist for Promax/BDA’s Rocket Award recognizing the world’s best creative talent.
