TORONTO – W Network announced today the addition of the critically-acclaimed drama series Felicity to its schedule, starting Saturday, June 18 at 8 p.m.
W Network will air all four seasons of the coming-of-age drama, which tells an intimate, character-driven story that captures all of the emotions of striking out into the world for the first time. Felicity is produced by J.J. Abrams (Lost) and Matt Reeves (The Pallbearer).
Through the eyes of 17-year-old Felicity Porter (Keri Russell), the first taste of freedom is often wonderful, sometimes painful, never uncomplicated and always real. Since childhood, Felicity’s life has been meticulously mapped out for her by her parents. Rejecting their predetermined path of Stanford pre-med, Felicity impulsively follows her high school crush (Scott Speedman) to New York University. As she tries to find her place in this world, Felicity discovers that the choices she makes often have unexpected consequences.
“When Felicity premiered in 1998, critics and audiences were delighted by this new and fresh series,” said Joanna Webb, vice-president of programming, W Network. “Young women can relate to Felicity’s emotional journey, and we’re happy to give viewers the chance to see it again, or experience it for the first time.”
Russell headlines a talented ensemble cast featuring Toronto-born Speedman (Underworld), Scott Foley (Scrubs), Amy Jo Johnson (The Division), Tangi Miller (The Enforcers), and Greg Grunberg (Alias).
