Vote now for CCSA’s Tuned-in Canada awards

SAINT JOHN, NB – Voting is now open for for the 2017 Tuned-in Canada awards, the annual nation-wide competition highlighting the efforts of local, independent providers of television and communications services in Canada.

Canadians are invited to visit Tuned-in Canada 2017 now through May 4 at midnight AT to vote for nominees in the categories of best customer service story, best community building story, best community channel programming, and best on-camera community channel personality.  

Voting takes place using a Facebook-authenticated voting process and voters can cast one vote per day.  The winners will be announced May 12 and each will receive $1000 to donate to a local charity or organization of their choice.

“The CCSA has been running the awards since 2014, and has provided $23,000 to winning companies, who in turn have donated their winnings back to the communities where they live and work,” said CCSA CEO Jay Thomson, in the announcement.  “Our shortlist reflects Canada’s community spirit. This competition is really about celebrating the community connections, both technical and personal, that our members provide across the country, and about giving back to great local causes.”

Judges Greg O’Brien (president of FindTV, and editor & publisher of Cartt.ca), Kurt Muller (Associate Dean of Media and Entertainment at Mohawk College), and Suzanne Lamarre (Lawyer, engineer, consultant and Québec Commissioner at the CRTC from 2008-2013), recently shortlisted the 16 finalists from a field of nominations submitted by CCSA member companies and their customers.
