Vonage smashes incumbents while raising money for Easter Seals

TORONTO – Internet phone company, Vonage Canada set up shop at the corner of King and Bay in Toronto today for a crash course on how to get even with the big phone companies.

By making a donation to The Easter Seals Society, the Bay Street crowd was given the opportunity to smash their phone bill – and a phone – with a baseball bat (pictured).

The VOIPster was encouraging people to study their phone bill for those extra fees annotated on each bill, "the little extra charges that appear each month… There’s a residence line charge of $20, a Long Distance Network Charge of $4.50 and a Touch Tone Service fee of $2.80. And this doesn’t factor in the $6-8 you pay for additional features like call waiting, call display and voicemail," said the release.
