MISSISSAUGA – As more and more of the 50-plus crowd go on line (and there’s good broadband growth in this market), they’ll be hearing about cheap phone service.
To take advantage, VOIP provider Vonage Canada has announced a new relationship with CARP, Canada’s Association for the Fifty-Plus, which will provide a special offer to members who become Vonage customers.
CARP members can sign up for Vonage phone service through the CARP web site at www.CARP.ca and receive two months of free service, a Linksys RTP300 phone adapter for no extra charge and the shipping and activation fee will be waived.
One of the unique features that will appeal to CARP members is the portability of Vonage’s service. Snowbirds can bring the adapter to a vacation or winter home and connect it to a high-speed Internet connection and their home phone number will work there.
