MISSISSAUGA, ON – Vonage Canada’s VoIP service will be pre-integrated into all HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario desktop, notebook and tablet PCs, the companies announced Tuesday. HP customers will be able to click on a preloaded Vonage desktop icon on their computers to register for Vonage’s phone service.
The joint marketing campaign also includes a contest for customers who sign up for Vonage before June 30 to win a new HP Pavilion tx1000us series Entertainment Notebook tablet PC. These customers will also get two free months of phone service.
Vonage is promoting the contest via online banner ads, email campaigns, newspaper ads, and through all its affiliate channels.
A high-speed Internet connection and a Vonage phone adapter are needed to use Vonage’s VoIP service. Because the phone number resides with the phone adapter, users can take their local home phone service anywhere in the world they move or travel, as long as they have access to a high-speed connection.
“Canadians don’t want to be tied down to their technology, but want technology to support their active lifestyles,” said Bruce Robertson, Vonage Canada director of product and market development. “That’s why this partnership is so ideal. VoIP provides the portability that no other home phone service delivers and HP’s leading PC lineup offers the advanced performance and functionality optimized for the digital life.”
