VoicePrint opens broadcast centre in Lethbridge


LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – VoicePrint, Canada’s only 24-hour reading service and the flagship division of The National Broadcast Reading Service (NBRS), opened its new Lethbridge broadcast centre last week.

The volunteer-based boasts more than 800 individuals donating their time and talent to record original programming at centres both large and small

Among the dignitaries present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Bob Tarlek, Mayor of Lethbridge, and Frank Spanbauer, representing Clint Dunford, MLA for Lethbridge South. The mayor, a former reading coach, hopes to make a monthly visit to record his monthly Lethbridge Herald column.

An open house was held on October 2nd with about 50 people in attendance. Among the most popular activities: recording a personal Thanksgiving message for airing on the national service over the long weekend – about 20 were made throughout the afternoon.
