TORONTO – The launch of TerreStar-1 has been scheduled for a two hour launch window beginning at 11:15 am on Canada Day, July 1, 2009.
The launch of “the world’s largest commercial communications satellite is the completion of phase one towards the goal of Canadian mobile satellite-terrestrial service,” says the press release.
“In collaboration with our U.S. partner, TerreStar Networks, TerreStar Canada is developing the next generation of mobile services: reliable and secure satellite-terrestrial mobile voice, data and video services dedicated to helping solve the critical communication and business continuity challenges faced by government, first responders, business and consumer communities,” it continues.
